Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, closed for Memorial Day; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., gardening video class at 9, bingo at 10, quilting class on binding at 10:30, line dancing class and Zumba at 11, chair yoga, lunch and Austintown Trustees meeting at noon, conversational Spanish at 12:30 p.m., AARP notables at 1 and Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club at 5; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and trip to Four Seasons Flea Market at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, intermediate computer class and Fountain of Youth fitness at 11, pizza party ($3) at noon, movie matinee at 12:30 p.m. and ballroom dancing class at 1; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and Greece and Turkey video class at 9, chair yoga at 9:15, SOS at 9:30, intermediate crocheting class and Vets Helping Vets at 10, knitting class at 10:15, intermediate computer, beginning crocheting and video wine tasting classes at noon, duck pin bowling at 1 p.m. and dinner and grocery bingo at 5; Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and Medieval Europe travelogue at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10 and senior spinning at 11; and Saturday, trunk and treasure sale at 9 a.m. For information call 330-953-1416 or visit www.austintownseniorcenter.webs.com.

The Gathering Place will take place at 11 a.m. June 9 at Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield. The program will begin at 11:30 and will include a picnic lunch, outside and inside games and cards. This event is for all senior citizens and takes place the second Monday of each month. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers, who will receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned a free informational luncheon at noon Friday to introduce a new program for seniors, “Economic Security Initiative,” which will officially begin June 1. David Raach, program coordinator, and Debbie Zador of SCOPE of Trumbull County are in charge of the program, which will help seniors get the most from their money. There are no residency or membership requirements; however, reservations are required by calling the center at 330-544-3676.
