Steven John McCarthy, son of Richard and Lauren McCarthy of Boardman, graduated May 16 from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio.

He is a 2005 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, and he received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ohio State University in 2009.

Dr. McCarthy is scheduled to begin his three-year surgical-residency program at Mill Creek Hospital in Erie, Pa., in July.

Christopher Marian, son of Daniel and Sofia Marian of Boardman, graduated Saturday from Duquesne University’s Mylan School of Pharmacy with a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Dr. Marian graduated from Boardman High School in 2008. His studies at Duquesne were part of a six-year program.

He will take North American Pharmacist Licensure and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence exams in July. He has accepted a position with CVS Pharmacy in St. Petersburg, Fla.
