YOUNGSTOWN

A celebrity dinner auction on June 23 will help to fund the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

The event will take place at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., and begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m.

Live and silent auction prizes will include wine baskets, event tickets, autographed sports memorabilia from the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers and others. Trips will include a chance to attend the 49ers first regular season home game at Levi’s Stadium, Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix and wine tastings with three Napa Valley vintners.

The money raised will support the scholarship awards given to local high school seniors every year. On May 15 seven seniors were awarded $8,000 each to further their education.

This is the 17th year of the event, and the foundation has awarded more than $600,000 in scholarship money to high school seniors who fit the requirements. They are awarded based on community service, academic achievement and financial need.
