2 TCTC students to test auto skills

CHAMPION HEIGHTS

Two Trumbull County and Career and Technical Center students will compete in the national finals for AAA/Ford Auto Skills competition in June after winning the Ohio state finals earlier this spring.

Joe Coffey and Blaze Knchok will have a chance to win scholarship money and to shadow the pit crew for NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne at the national competition in Dearborn, Mich., from June 8-10.

The students will take a written test, use computerized technology to diagnose a problem in a car and then use their mechanic skills to fix it.

The Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition is a collaboration with the automotive industry and local communities to build awareness of career opportunities in the automotive service industry.
