LAKE MILTON

Myrddin Winery of Lake Milton won three medals at the state’s winery competition earlier this month.

Myrddin’s Vivien won Best of Show in the Rose category, and it also won double gold. Its dry red, Taliesin, won gold, and its dry white, Lady of the Lake Reserve, won silver.

The competition was at Kent State University at Ashtabula.

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services invites Ohio couples or singles to register for its free Adoption/Foster Care Pre-Placement Education.

The sessions start June 6 and continue through June 28 at NOAS, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26.

The sign-up deadline is Thursday. If a participant can’t attend a certain session, makeup opportunities are available. Call John Hostetler at 800-686-6627, ext. 123, to register.

NOAS is a private, nonprofit agency for Ohio families who live within 90 minutes of its Warren office. Since 1978, NOAS has developed families for more than 1,200 children and teens.

Sale at senior center

AUSTINTOWN

A free trunk-and-treasure sale will be offered at Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31.

Inside and outside spaces still are available for direct sellers, independent distributors, crafters or those who may not have the space or time to set up a garage or yard sale. Parking-lot spaces are $5 per space, and inside tables will be $15 per table.

Appointed to board

BERLIN CENTER

Gov. John Kasich appointed Brian P. Benyo of Berlin Center to the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board for a term beginning Thursday and continuing to serve at the pleasure of the governor. The board helps determine the skill needs of employers and provides guidance on the effectiveness of the state’s workforce-development program.
