Gay Pride fest seeks parade participants

YOUNGSTOWN

The 2014 Youngstown Gay Pride Festival is seeking individuals, businesses and organizations for the festival parade.

The parade begins the festival at noon June 7. It will start at Market and Woodland and will proceed to Central Square downtown.

Bands scheduled at Jupiter Studios

ALLIANCE

Appearing this weekend at Jupiter Studios, 346 E. Main St., are Ladyface, with Kevin Phillips, starting at 8 tonight; and Rock Salt and Nails at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $5.

Accompanying friends who have never been to Jupiter before will get in free.

Events to benefit humane society

GUILFORD LAKE

The Humane Society of Columbiana County fundraising weekend begins today at the Guilford Lake Grille entertainment complex with the Tribute Band at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Zach Paxson & Co. and The River’s Own will perform, beginning at 8:30. Admission is $10.

On Monday, the grille will host the Biker’s Ball. Bona Fortuna Boards owners Lauren and Craig Borden will demonstrate Stand Up Paddle Boards at 2 p.m. at the boat ramp at 7094 E. Lake Road. Participants should wear a bathing suit, wetsuit or shorts. Life jackets will be provided to individuals 12 and under. For the remainder of May, $50 from the sale of each board will be donated to HSCC.

The Bling Bling Lady and Fashions to Go mobile boutique will be on site at 4 p.m. with fashion merchandise, purses, wallets, shoes, belts and dog bling.

At 5 p.m. Old Goats band will perform.
