Boardman police investigate suspected arson

Police and fire officials are investigating an arson from Thursday afternoon.

According to a police report, officers arrived at 7448 Glenwood Avenue at about 2:51 p.m. Thursday. There they met with officials from the Boardman Township fire department and were advised the fire was deliberately set.

Fire officials did not find an accelerant, but the fire was centered in a side room off of the garage with a phone book and building materials at the center of the fire.

Authorities were unable to contact the property owner once on scene and no matches or lighter were found at the scene.
