Boardman man arraigned in December murder

YOUNGSTOWN

A Boardman man is in Mahoning County jail, charged with the aggravated murder of a Youngstown man in December.

Charles Stanley Jr., 28, of Shields Road, was arraigned Friday in Youngstown Municipal Court. He is in jail on a $500,000 bond. He already was behind bars on an aggravated-burglary charge related to the murder case.

Authorities served him with the murder warrant Thursday at the jail.

Stanley is charged with aggravated murder in the death of 20-year-old Aldric Jones at a Fairmount Avenue home on the North Side. Jones was found by police lying in the home’s driveway about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 29. He died in the hospital the next day of a gunshot wound to the head.

He was accused of breaking into a home in the 100 block of Silliman Street about 6:35 a.m. Dec. 24 as Jones was in the home with Stanley’s ex-girlfriend.
