Woman arraigned on assault charge

Staff reports

AUSTINTOWN

A township woman who police said shot her husband was arraigned on charges Monday in Mahoning County Area Court.

Margaret Tucker, 54 of 51 S. Edgehill Drive, was in court Monday and did not enter a plea due to the felonious-assault charge. Prosecutor Ken Cardinal said there aren’t pleas entered in felony arraignments, and the state has to show probable cause at the pretrial hearing.

Austintown police were called to the home after Tucker called authorities telling them she shot her husband with her .357 Magnum.

Harry Tucker, 61, was treated for a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Margaret Tucker posted a $12,000 bond to get out of Mahoning County jail. She has a pretrial hearing scheduled for June 2.
