Man sentenced to three years for Warren robbery

WARREN

Davon L. Owens 18, of Oak Street Southwest, was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday for his role in an armed robbery that resulted in him being accidentally shot in the face by his co-defendant.

Owens pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to aggravated robbery before Judge Andrew Logan.

Prosecutors said Owens was part of a Dec. 29 robbery on Iowa Avenue Northwest in which he and Antwan Baugh, 21, of Oak Street Southwest, tried to rob a man standing outside of a house at close to midnight.

Police found the robbed man’s cell phone in Owens’ pocket. Baugh was sentenced to three years in prison earlier.

Atty. Dan Keating, who represents Owens, told Judge Logan Owens has no recollection of the incident because he was knocked unconscious by the gunshot.
