Dena Wallis and Matthew Himes, both of Dublin, Ohio, are engaged to be married, their parents are announcing.

Their parents are Robert and Bonnie Wallis of Boardman and Larry and Karen Himes of Youngstown.

The wedding is planned for 2:30 p.m. Dec. 27 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, where a reception will follow in the social hall. Both events are by invitation.

The bride-elect graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in medical dietetics and from Case Western Reserve University with a nursing degree. She is employed as a NICU nurse for Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The prospective groom attended Youngstown State University. He is employed as a state trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Columbus.
