Man dies after deer runs into his motorcycle

NORTH JACKSON — The Canfield barracks of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said a Berlin man was killed about 12:45 a.m. Monday in a motorcycle accident on Duck Creek Road just south of Silica Road in Jackson Township after a deer ran in front of his motorcycle.

A news release from the patrol said Robert Danch, 36, was riding south when the deer came onto the road and ran into the motorcycle.

Danch was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, the release said. The release said Danch was not wearing a helmet.

The patrol said alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident. An investigation is continuing.
