Late-night TV horror movie hosts Big Chuck, Lil’ John in area show

The National Packard Museum, 1899 Mahoning Ave. NW, will present a fundraiser weekend June 6-7 that will include the return of “Big Chuck & Lil’ John Live!”

The weekend will begin June 6 with “A Magical, Musical Happy Hour of Comedy,” featuring Warren comedian-magician Eric Thompson and musical duo Take II. It will be an adults-only after-work party from 6 to 8 p.m. that will include beer and beverages, pizza from Sunrise Inn and wings from Quaker Steak and Lube. Tickets are $10 and include admission to the museum.

Big Chuck and Lil’ John, who emceed late-night horror movies on a Cleveland television station decades ago, will come to Packard Museum on June 7.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. with exhibits and merchandise for sale, along with an old-fashioned theater concession stand serving buttery popcorn, pop and candy.

At 7 p.m., Big Chuck and Lil’ John will take the stage in the museum’s Great Hall Gallery and introduce the evening’s show, which will include four short films by the Three Stooges.

During “commercial breaks,” Big Chuck and Lil’ John will perform comedy skits and show vintage film clips from their legendary late-night horror series. During intermission, the two will sign books and autographs in the museum lobby.

The event will also include a pizza-eating contest.

Tickets to “Big Chuck & Lil’ John Live!” are $25.

The National Packard Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
