OVI checkpoint tonight on Youngstown's South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that an operating a vehicle while impaired checkpoint will be from 9 p.m. to midnight tonight on Market Street (state Route 7) at Ravenwood Avenue with the Youngstown Police Department.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint will also be in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements, a patrol spokesman said.
