OVI checkpoint set up tonight in Boardman


BOARDMAN — The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that an operating a vehicle while impaired checkpoint will be from 10 p.m. tonight to 2 a.m. Saturday on Shields Road at Tippecanoe Road with the Boardman Police Department.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint will also is in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says if you plan to drink alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements.
