Area man bound over to grand jury on kidnapping, aggravated robbery

William J. Countryman III, 35, of Salt Springs Road in Mineral Ridge and Main Avenue in Warren, has been bound over to a Trumbull County grand jury on charges accusing him of kidnapping and robbing a 74-year-old Bristolville woman May 8 at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

The woman said she was kidnapped from the parking lot at knifepoint and robbed of about $50 and a cellphone.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitives Task Force arrested Countryman the next day at a house on Comstock Street Northwest.

They found Countryman in a bedroom closet under some clothes. During a search, officers found a plastic bag containing heroin in Countryman’s boot, and a felony heroin-possession charge was added.

Two other people in the house also were arrested — one for a probation violation and one on a warrant.
