Criminal damaging at car wash

City police are investigating a report of criminal damaging that occurred at a McCartney Road business.

Shortly after noon on Thursday, officers responded to Great Reflections car wash, 100 McCartney Road, where the owner told them that unknown persons had cut the lock on the east bay safe in an attempt to get to the cash inside. They did not get to the money, however, and only damaged the safe.

The owner said he left the car wash at about 5 p.m. Wednesday and noticed the damage upon his return to the business early Thursday.

Police are putting extra patrols in the area.
