Trumbull communities get fed firefighting grants


WARREN — The Niles and Warren fire departments have been awarded Operations and Safety grants through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, announced U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th.

The Niles department received $157,325 and the Warren department received $60,948

The grants can be used for professional training, personal protective equipment, and supplies that support firefighting and EMS operations and safety.
