Lakeview boys, Poland girls win AAC White titles

Lakeview senior Christopher Edie won the 1600-meter run, placed second in the 3200 and helped the Bulldogs win the 4x800 relay and capture the team title at Tuesday’s All-American Conference White Tier meet at Lakeview High School.
Senior Isaac Daffron won the 800 and ran on the winning 4x800 relay, senior Jordan Lowther won the discus, senior Jarrett Pishotti won the pole vault and freshman Mason Borawiec won the 400 as the Bulldogs piled up 151.5 points to edge Poland (126.5).
Jefferson (94) was third, Edgewood was fourth, Hubbard fifth, Struthers sixth and Niles seventh.
Poland junior Bryan Partika won both hurdling events, Struthers won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays and Hubbard won the 4x400 relay. Hubbard’s Matt Jones won the shot put and placed second in the discus and teammate Ian Lowry won the high jump.
On the girls side, Poland’s Kirsten Appel won the long jump and teammate Nicole Kreatsoulas won the discus to help the Bulldogs edge Lakeview 153-141 for the team title. Jefferson (104.5) was third, followed by Edgewood, Hubbard, Struthers and Niles.
Poland also won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
Lakeview’s Hollie Frantz won the 1600 and teammate Cammie Becker placed second in that event and won the 3200. The Bulldogs’ Morgan Sims won the 300 hurdles.
Niles’ Tiawna Whitmore won the 100 and 200, Hubbard’s Melissa Thomas won the 400 and Struthers’ Ieshia Walker (800), Lynnea Mims (shot put) and Holly Kane (high jump) also won individual titles.
