Dr. John R. Jakubek reappointed YSU trustee

Gov. John R. Kasich announced the reappointment of Dr. John R. Jakubek of Canfield to the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees for a term beginning Tuesday and ending April 30, 2023.

Dr. Jakubek, who serves as the board’s vice chairman, initially was appointed in 2009 to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Dianne Bitonte Miladore, who stepped down after being appointed to the board of trustees at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy, now Northeast Ohio Medical University.

He earned a bachelor of science degree summa cum laude from YSU in 1979 and is a 1982 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

He is an anesthesiologist and serves on the staff of Bel-Park Anesthesia Associates Inc. and St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, according to YSU’s website.

Dr. Jakubek also is a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He is a member of the YSU Penguin Club, a lifetime member of both the YSU and OSU alumni associations and a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists, Ohio State Medical Association, International Anesthesia Research Society and the Mahoning County Medical Society.
