Copies of budget for library available

Copies of the proposed budget of the Hubbard Public Library of Trumbull County, including the cost of operating the library for fiscal-year 2015, are on file in the office of the treasurer of the Hubbard Board of Education and open to inspection.

There will be a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. May 28 on the proposed budget for the library to take place in the board room at the school board office, 108 Orchard Ave.

Company sues Polivka for payment

A Niles company has sued Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka, seeking $9,090 for payments the company says Polivka owes for the construction of a $46,521 safety training/meeting room in the basement of Polivka’s home at 160 Country Club Drive SE.

The suit was filed in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court by National Contractors Inc. of 106 Robbins Ave., Suite 1.

The suit says National Contractors, Polivka and others signed an agreement in October, and the construction was completed.

A corporation called Global Parking Solutions, controlled by Polivka’s brother, Basil Polivka, CEO of Polivka International, paid $30,000, and Dan Polivka paid $7,431, the suit said.
