Theft of U-Haul trailer and merchandise reported

Boardman police are investigating an apparent theft of a U-Haul trailer with more than $33,000 in merchandise and currency in it.

The theft was reported to police early Tuesday after the victim discovered it missing from where it was on Shields Road.

The trailer was rented by the victim from Rental Corral in Boardman.

The trailer was last seen on 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and was reported missing at 4:44 a.m.

Inside it there is $5,000, four good necklaces, a gold watch, a growing system, two mattresses, two 55-inch televisions, a refrigerator and other items, according to a police report.
