Police said a man they chased on the North Side while responding to a domestic-disturbance call had a gun and a knife on him.
William Moore, 28, was arraigned in municipal court Monday on two counts of carrying concealed weapons, obstruction of justice and domestic violence. He was arrested after a foot chase about 7:25 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Alameda Avenue.
Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of Catalina Avenue by a woman who said she was Moore’s estranged wife and that she told him not to come to see her. Reports said when officers pulled up, they saw Moore walk out the side door to an SUV and get in and back out of the drive.
Officers followed the SUV until it stopped at Wirt Street and Alameda Avenue, and Moore ran away, reports said. He was arrested after he ran into a fence that blocked his way, reports said.
Reports said police found a handgun on the path he had run, and he also had a knife in his pants. Records also show that Moore was wanted on warrants from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The records did not specify what those charges are.
Moore spent the weekend in the Mahoning County jail until his arraignment.
