‘Neighbors’ unseats Spidey at box office
LOS ANGELES
Seth Rogen and Zac Efron have bested the web-slinger at the box office.
Rogen and Efron’s family-versus-fraternity comedy “Neighbors,” was the top draw for moviegoers this weekend, unseating last week’s champ, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”
The R-rated “Neighbors” debuted with $51 million in ticket sales, pushing Spidey to second place with $37 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Another comedy, the Cameron Diaz-Leslie Mann revenge romp “The Other Woman” held onto third place in its third week of release, adding $9.25 million to its take. “Heaven Is for Real,” with $7 million, and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” with $5.6 million, round out the top five.
Jackman has another growth removed
NEW YORK
Hugh Jackman has had another cancerous growth removed.
The 45-year-old actor attended the premiere of his latest film, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” Saturday night with a bandage over his nose. He told The Associated Press he had a basal-cell carcinoma removed two nights earlier.
Jackman said he learned the results of a recent biopsy earlier Thursday, and had it removed right after.
Basal-cell carcinoma is a slow-growing form of skin cancer. Jackman was treated for same disease last year but said the prognosis was good: “It’s all out now.”
But he urges others to “get checkups and wear sunscreen.”

CARSON, CALIF.
Wango Tango alum Adam Levine welcomed a new generation of concertgoers to the annual, daylong music festival Saturday.

“Half of you guys weren’t even alive. So welcome,” said a platinum-blond Levine.
Colombian singer Shakira, British rocker Ed Sheernan and EDM producer-DJ Tiesto were the final acts at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera sang their emotional ballad “Say Something.” The pregnant pop star, who arrived late, said she had kicked off her heels and sprinted for the stage.
Other performers included Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, One Republic and Paramore.
