City patrolman promoted to detective sergeant

YOUNGSTOWN — A 14-year member of the police department was promoted Monday.

Brent Gaitanis, who has been on the department since 2000, was promoted from patrolman to detective sergeant.

He takes the place of Anita Davis, who retired Friday as a detective sergeant after more than 35 years on the force.

Gaitanis has been on the department since 2000. He was also an officer for six years in Campbell before being hired in Youngstown and is a native of Campbell.
