3 men arrested after assault downtown

YOUNGSTOWN

Three men arrested on assault charges at 3:15 a.m. Sunday will appear in Youngstown Municipal Court today. They were taken to Mahoning County jail.

Arrested were Ronald Howell, 23; Nicholas Hovey, 23; and Dylan Samargia, 22, after police were called to the 100 block of West Commerce Street downtown about a fight.

They found a victim bleeding from a cut above his right eye. Witnesses said the man was “minding his own business” when three men began fighting with him.

Cleveland woman faces drug charges

YOUNGSTOWN

Police stopped Sharlisa Lawson, 24, of Cleveland after the car she was driving pulled out in front of a police car traveling on Market Street about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana. They found a marijuana grinder with residue and four bags of heroin with more than 14 grams.

Lawson was charged with drug abuse-controlled substance, trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs-heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was taken to Mahoning County jail.
