JCL will sponsor Cinderella Ball

The 59th annual Cinderella Ball, “The Winner in Me,” will be sponsored by the Junior Civic League on Nov. 28 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave.

The ball is the league’s largest fundraiser for scholarships.

JCL is looking for young women to participate as debutantes for the formal event who are high school seniors during the 2014-2015 school year, have a grade-point average of at least 2.0 and are not a parent. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 1.

This fundraiser has awarded more than $510,000 in scholarships since its inception. Miss Cinderella will receive a cash prize of $400 or a $2,500 scholarship to an accredited college of her choice. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, and personal qualities and strengths.
