Send information for VBS sessions
Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will run on the Religion page. Please include the following information: the complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its registration deadline.

Ministries chapter

George Perez, a modern- day prophet, will be guest speaker when the Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries, an interdenominational ministry, meets May 19 at Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. Fellowship is at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7. Perez’s wife, Yvette, will assist.
Anniversary events

The Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor two wedding anniversary celebrations to honor couples who are observing their 25th, 40th, 50th or over anniversaries in 2014. Couples may register for the celebration that is most convenient.
The first celebration will be 2 p.m. June 15 at St. Columba Cathedral. Couples planning to attend this event should register at their parishes by Thursday.
The second celebration will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Canton. Registrations will be accepted in September.
Celebrations will include Mass with Bishop George V. Murry, renewal of marriage vows, a personalized certificate and a reception for couples and their families.
Pastor anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN
Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will celebrate the 19th pastoral anniversary of Pastor Michael H. Harrison and his wife, Sylvia.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. next Saturday, there will be a “Preach-A-Thon” by the pastor’s sons and daughters in the ministry. Preachers will be pastors Mark Tookes, Larry Alexander and James Bowie, ministers Sarah Jenkins, Marcia Walker, Ledra Green, Felecia Williams, Will Tate, Rhonda Ware, Mike Williams, Tammy Seljan and Myrtis Thornton, elders Angela Tookes, Julian Walker, Joyce Boudrey and Jeff Stanford and Dr. Rosie Taylor.
At 10:45 a.m. May 18, Pastor Judah Early from Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Cleveland will speak.
Spring concert

Voices of Choir Ministry and Male Chorus Ministry of Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., will present a spring concert at 4 p.m. May 18.

HUBBARD
Youngstown Church of God in Christ, 3903 Jacobs Road, will host its second concert at 6 p.m. today on the theme “Greater Unity, Greater Glory.”
Guests include LaCara Giles Praise Team, Restoration Fellowship Mime Dancers, soloist Sharon Jackson and Shirley Jordan.
Honored will be Margaret Folsome, Janice Beecham, deacons Larry Brownlee and Azor Phelps for more than 45 years of service. Frederick Sutton is program chairman, and Elder Paul A. Loggins is host pastor.
