YSU softball eliminated from Horizon tourney

UIC scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to beat Youngstown State, 3-2, Thursday and eliminate the Penguins from the 2014 Horizon League Championship.

The Penguins finished 30-24, just the second 30-win season in school history.

Senior Haley Knight went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while senior Samantha Snodgrass went 2-for-4 with a home run and sophomore Katie Smallcomb had two singles.
