On their last day of school before starting spring break [April 16], pre-kindergarten students in Cindy Hritz and Sheila Dunlap’s class at St. Luke School had an Easter party.
The 16-member class of students ages 4 and 5 meets for school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
For their Easter party, the classrooms ate fun food for lunch, sang Easter songs, decorated Easter egg baskets and hunted for more than 200 eggs that were placed outside the school.
St. Luke public relations director Farra Simerlink said the event was a team effort.
“Just the teachers and parents worked together to put it together,” she said.
Simerlink added that the event was a good departure from the normal classroom routine the students have.
“They get to have fun,” she said. “Normally they’re learning all day, so they get to have fun and learn a little bit. Mostly they get to have fun. It’s their last day before spring break.”
