POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Hubbard:
GIRARD
May 5
Theft: A $300 global-positioning-system unit was removed from a vehicle in the 90 block of Morris Avenue.
Burglary: Police charged 26-year-old Ryan J. Hatcher of Crumlin Avenue, Girard, with burglary and receiving stolen property after someone broke into a vehicle in the 400 block of Parkview Drive and took a wristwatch and other small items.
Criminal mischief: Two windows were broken on a building in the 400 block of East Liberty Street. Damage came to $250.
Misuse of a credit card: An East Broadway Avenue man discovered $476 had been removed from his account without authorization.
Assault: An East Wilson Avenue man told police that during an argument, another man punched the accuser’s mouth.
Burglary: Someone cut a bedroom-window screen before entering a home in the 400 block of Indiana Avenue, though it appeared nothing was missing.
May 6
Harassment: A South Randolph Street man said he received five obscene calls.
May 7
Harassment: A Mosier Road man reported receiving a few months’ worth of such calls, including various threats.
Trespassing: Officers responding to a report of someone taking scrap metal from near a set of railroad tracks off Byers Avenue charged Jason A. Malcolmson, 38, of First Street, Niles, with criminal trespassing. Malcolmson did not have permission to be on the property, a report said.
HUBBARD
May 2
Theft: Police charged a 14-year-old Hubbard boy with stealing a toy model car from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 147 W. Liberty St.
May 3
Harassment: A Dorchester Drive man said a Hubbard boy, 15, had made numerous unwanted calls to him and another family member.
May 5
Identity fraud: A South Main Street man learned that a Stow man reportedly had used his credit information to buy services from a Medina water company and may have passed the accuser’s information to two other people.
May 6
Harassment: An East Liberty Street man said several people via Skype have been swearing at and harassing him.
False alarms: A West Park Avenue woman told police that a neighbor has made continual baseless complaints to authorities against her for supposedly making too much noise.
