Campbell police arrest Youngstown man on drug charges

CAMPBELL

A 23-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on drug charges Thursday after police found 8 grams of suspected marijuana in his car during a traffic stop.

Lucas Allen Diaz, of Benita Avenue, will answer to possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia charges in Campbell Municipal Court on Tuesday. He was also cited for having objects hanging from his rear view mirror and obstructing his view.

Police stopped Diaz at 9:15 a.m. Thursday on Coitsville Road, and immediately smelled unburnt marijuana coming from the car. A search of the car produced the suspected marijuana, along with $123 in cash and a bag containing marijuana residue.

Two others were in the car with Diaz, but Diaz admitted that the marijuana belonged to him.
