Former Mahoning County Treasurer Lisa Antonini has been moved to the Community Corrections Association to finish serving the last month of her five-month federal prison sentence.
David Stillwagon of CCA confirmed Thursday that she arrived this week to finish the remainder of her sentence.
Antonini pleaded guilty in July 2011 in the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio to a single count of honest services mail fraud and was sentenced to fine months in prison in November 2013 by U.S. Judge Sara Lioi.
She began serving her sentence Jan. 7 and was serving her sentence in a minimum security prison in West Virginia before she was moved to CCA.
Antonini, who also was a past chairwoman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party, admitted taking and failing to report a $3,000 cash gift from a local businessman Jan. 16, 2008, while reporting only a $200 contribution he gave that day by check to her primary campaign for county treasurer.
Prosecutors said she promised to support the businessman and take action for him if the opportunity ever presented itself.
Board of elections records show only Anthony M. Cafaro Sr., former Cafaro Co. president, as a contributor of $200 by check that day to her campaign.
Cafaro and his company were not charged with any crime concerning gifts to Antonini or her campaign.
