Teen pleads guilty in Ohio jogger's stabbing in park
COLUMBUS (AP) — A 16-year-old boy charged with fatally stabbing a central Ohio jogger has pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors.
Investigators say the boy lived in a group foster home when he repeatedly stabbed 55-year-old Jane Juergens in a suburban Columbus park in October, then tossed his knife into a wooded area.
The teen pleaded guilty to one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence today before Franklin County Judge Timothy Horton.
Horton sentenced the teen to life in prison with parole eligibility after 18 years.
The teen apologized in a statement read by his attorney.
