Rabies vaccines for $6 in Beloit


BELOIT

Mahoning County District Board of Health, in conjunction with veterinarian Dr. Lisa Kurtz and the East Park Veterinary Clinic of Columbiana, is offering a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets from 2 to 4 p.m. May 17 at Beloit Village Fire Department, 17893 Fifth St.

Rabies vaccination for all dogs, cats, and ferrets over 3 months is required in Mahoning County. The cost is $6 per shot. Pet owners must have pets on a leash, in a cage, or inside a pillowcase. No appointment is needed.

Individuals can protect themselves and their families from rabies by following these guidelines: Vaccinate pets, spay or neuter pets, avoid contact of pets and humans with wildlife and stray animals, wash animal bite areas thoroughly and follow up with a visit to the doctor.
