NAACP youth panel to meet Saturday

The local NAACP Youth Council will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, 2105 Oak Hill Ave.
The newly reorganized youth council invites middle-school and high-school youths to join. Elementary schoolchildren also are welcome to join.
Discussion topics will include the history of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the organization’s current activities and activities city youths believe need their attention. Fundraising and promotional activities for the group will be presented as well, in particular, raising funds for a trip to Detroit in August.

The Powerstown Neighbors Block Watch meets at 7 p.m. today at Faith Community Church, 191 Midlothian Blvd. Councilman John R. Swierz, D-7th, will attend to discuss neighborhood issues. All are welcome.
Warriors parade

The Warriors Inc. 10th annual “Unity in the Community” parade will take place at 10 a.m. May 17 on the city’s South Side.

Free dental care

The Boardman and Alliance Aspen Dental offices, along with others in Brooklyn, Mayfield, Parma and Strongsville, are offering free dental care to people in need from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Aspen Dental in Boardman is at 1320 Boardman-Poland Road, and Aspen Dental in Alliance is at 1630 State St., Suite E.

Dentists will focus on treating the most-urgent dental needs of each patient by providing services such as fillings, extractions, X-rays or basic denture repairs. Aspen Dental and Oral Health America have joined forces to create the Healthy Mouth Movement, a community giving initiative designed to deliver free dental care and oral-health education to people in need.
Safe motorcycling

The National Packard Museum will give hands-on instruction for safe group motorcycle riding at 11 a.m. Saturday at the museum, 1899 Mahoning Ave. NW. Weather permitting, participants will depart from the museum at noon for a 90-minute group ride through Trumbull County’s scenic back roads.
