“Shifting,” by Rabecca Signoriello of New Castle, Pa., won Best in Show at the annual Hoyt Regional Juried Exhibit. More than 260 entries were received from 117 regional artists for this year’s competition. Louis A. Zona, executive director of The Butler Institute of American Art, served as juror, narrowing the entries to 69 pieces included in the show. The other winners were: first place, “Anita in Black” by Tricia Kaman (Chagrin Falls); second place, “Hill Street Saloon” by James O’Malley (Struthers); and third place, “Scale” by Mike McSorley (North Versailles, Pa.). Several other local artists received honorable mention, including Greg Myers of Sharon, Pa., and Don Wright of Canfield. The exhibit will remain on display until May 30 at the Hoyt Center for the Arts in New Castle, Pa.
