“Songs by Sondheim” musical revue, directed by Anthony Ruggiero, Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville, Pierce Opera House, 100 N. Mercer Ave., Sharpsville, Pa., auditions 2 to 4 p.m. May 18 and 7 to 9 p.m. May 20. Those auditioning can sing a Sondheim song or something else, and it can be a solo or a duet. There will be several group numbers in the show. Auditions are open to high school students and adults. Rehearsals will begin in July. Performances will be Sept. 4, 6 and 7 (there is no Friday performance). For information, call Susan Piccirilli at 724-456-3121.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,SDRq Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown, auditions at 6:30 p.m. May 27 and 28. Be prepared to read from a script. Short monologues will be accepted. All roles open. Performances are Aug. 1 and 2, with rain dates of Aug. 8 and 9.
