Warren man injured in late-night shooting

WARREN — A 20-year-old city man was treated at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital after being shot in the foot at just after midnight Wednesday when the driver of another car gave him a “dirty look,” then fired a gun at him.

The victim said he and his friends were stopped at a traffic light at Mahoning Avenue and Summit Street Northwest for about a minute. He noticed two males in a car next to him, and the driver “was giving him dirty looks.”

The victim, the rear-seat passenger, told police that the driver “shot one bullet at him, and the bullet went through the car and entered his right foot.” The shooter then drove off.

The victim said he was dropped off at the hospital, and he didn’t know where sport-utility vehicle had gone that he was riding in.

The other vehicle was a burgundy Chevy Malibu, he said.
