Veterans Affairs reviews security after shooting in Ohio

CINCINNATI (AP) — A shooting at a veterans hospital in southwest Ohio this week has led to a review of security procedures by both national and local Veterans Affairs officials.

A Chicago-based spokesman says the VA is looking at the event to determine whether policies need to be changed. Local VA officials are updating camera systems and reviewing other procedures.

A former Dayton’s VA hospital worker is in federal custody after Monday’s shooting that wounded an employee in the ankle. Authorities say 59-year-old Neil Moore of Trotwood is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and use of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Investigators say Moore wanted to intimidate former co-workers he believed were having inappropriate relationships with his wife and daughter.
