Vacant house fire in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN

Firefighters called to a vacant 2555 Mount Vernon Ave. home early Tuesday found heavy smoke in the second floor and attic, reports said.

Crews were called about 7:40 a.m. and had to force their way in. Reports said it appeared the fire started in the kitchen and worked its way up the second floor through the walls.

Damage is listed at $7,000. The cause is under investigation. There were no injuries.
