Hollywood Gaming announces hiring of management team

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course announced seven management hires Tuesday.
Heidi Farulia, a Pittsburgh native, has been hired as the director of finance and served in a similar position at Hollywood Casino Toledo. Penn National Gaming also operates the Toledo casino, and Mike Galle, general manager for the Austintown racino, also came over from Toledo.
Scott Frost is the director of marketing, leaving Radio One in Detroit and New York City where he had been working for the past 18 years. He has served as a marketing director at Station Casino St. Charles, St. Charles, Mo., and also at MotorCity Casino, Detroit. Queeta Hewitt has been hired as director of human resources. She has worked in the gaming industry for 12 years, working at two Penn National locations before Mahoning Valley. Those are Hollywood Casino Tunica, in Tunica, Miss., and Argosy Casino, Sioux City, Iowa.
The director of video lottery terminals is Anthony Quarantillo, who is also from Penn National’s Toledo casino. He previously had worked as a slot supervisor at Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel, Niagara Falls, N.Y., for 10 years before moving to Toledo and working in a similar role.
Another hire from Toledo is Barry Rhodes, director of food and beverage, who had served as executive chef at Hollywood Casino Toledo. The native of England previously had worked at Bally’s Casino in Tunica, Miss., and Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, Mich.
The information-technology manager is Patrice Freeman, who previously had worked for two Penn National casinos. She began at Hollywood Casino Joliet, Joliet, Ill., and shifted to its Toledo location last year in the same role she will serve in Austintown.
The final hire is Herman Stein as facilities manager, who previously had worked for Morgan’s Foods. For the past seven years at Morgan’s Foods, a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee based in Cleveland, he handled 30 restaurant remodels and new construction for the company.
