Buyer found for MetroPlex conference center in Liberty
LIBERTY — The former Metroplex conference center on Belmont Avenue attracted a buyer at an auction this morning.
The auction drew a signed offer that the seller is reviewing, said Gordon Greene, a broker and auctioneer with Cleveland-based Hanna Chartwell Commercial Real Estate.
The auction took place at 11 a.m. in Independence, Ohio. Seller Aswin Ganapathy Hospitality Associates LLC had set a published reserve price of $995,000 but authorized bidding to begin at $735,000.
Greene would not disclose the amount of the offer or the prospective buyer.
The complex, which now houses a Rodeway Inn, has been closed since a fire there in March.
