ELECTION UPDATE | Fracking losing, sales tax winning, bad news for Tarpley
With voters in Youngstown's 6th and 7th Wards as well as small parts of the 1st and 5th, the city's anti-fracking charter amendment is losing 1,706 to 1,482.
Also, the Mahoning County half-percent sales tax is up 3,905 to 3,528.'
In the county probate court Democratic primary, Susan Maruca has increased her lead over Christopher Sammarone. Maruca has 3,216 votes to Sammarone's 2,557.
In the 58th Ohio House District Race, Michele LePore-Hagan continues to lead with 1,652 votes and city Councilwoman Janet tarpley in second with 1,350 votes.
This isn't good news for Tarpley as she lives in the city's 6th Ward, where she was expected to pick up more votes.
This is 34 out of 273 precincts, or about 12.5 percent of the total vote.
