The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center will present its third annual Couch to 5K program beginning May 20. A free informational seminar on the program will be presented by Dr. Ted Suzelis, N.D., at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at his Boardman office, located in SouthBridge West (behind Second Sole) at 755 Boardman-Canfield Rd., Suite D-3.
The Couch to 5K program consists of three training sessions per week for 12 weeks in Boardman. The fee is $90 for the 12-week program. For information or to register, call 330-729-1350 or visit online at OhioND.com. Registration is required for the informational meeting.
Addiction documentary
HOWLAND
“The Anonymous People,” a feature documentary film about the more than 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction, will be shown at 6 p.m. next Tuesday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton Drive NE. The event is free.
“This film shows courageous addiction-recovery advocates coming out of the shadows and organizing an end to discrimination,” said Lauren Thorp, director of recovery and youth programs at the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board.

Well-child immunization
GIRARD
The well-child immunization clinic will be offered Thursday at the Girard health department in city hall at 100 W. Main St. Call the Health Department between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 330-545–6048.
There is a $10 administrative fee per child. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child’s immunization record. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. Parents must pre-register children before the clinic.
Speech, language screenings

In recognition of national Better Hearing and Speech Month this month, Beyond Expectations Speech Therapy, 725 Boardman-Canfield Road, E-1, offers free speech and language screenings for children all month by appointment.
Certified speech-language pathologists evaluate children for concerns, including speech sound disorders, language disorders, stuttering and voice disorders.

Safe driving course
POLAND
Shepherd of the Valley is inviting drivers 60 or older to sign up for the AAA Safe Driving for Mature Operators Course taught by a State-certified AAA instructor. Registration is required. Call 330-726-7110, ext. 0.
The course is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 and May 21 at Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Road. The cost is $10 for AAA members and $15 for nonmembers. Topics include vision, adjusting speed, road rage, drowsy driving, prescription medications and driving emergencies.
There is an hour for lunch, which can be purchased for $6.50, or there are food establishments nearby. Lunch reservations are required.
The course is approved for insurance discounts by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles under Ohio’s Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course for Drivers 60 and older.
