GREENFORD
The South Range School Foundation conducted its annual reverse raffle at The Georgetown in Boardman last month and honored John and Gerri Less for their contributions to the foundation, as well as longtime contributor the Rominger Foundation.
John Less donated $2,500, and the Rominger Foundation donated $122,893.
Less was chosen as Farmer of Columbiana County and donated his award from the Monsanto Fund to help South Range Schools.
The Rominger Foundation has been donating to South Range for years.
Some of the donations have allowed the district to purchase instructional materials for elementary classrooms, a field trip to the zoo, diagnostic and instructional learning tools for the middle school and travel expenses for the academic and speech teams at the high school.
Their contributions have also funded the computer labs in both the high school and middle school, 200 iPads for students and teachers and hurdles for the Rominger Sports Complex.
The South Range Schools Foundation was established to enhance the academic and educational experiences for the children and teachers of South Range Schools.
It is a nonprofit organization that uses funds from generous donations to provide support to all students and teachers of the district.
All grants and purchases come strictly from donations and at no cost to taxpayers.
