Hubbard council seeks bids for sole garbage collector

HUBBARD — The city board of control will advertise for bids for an exclusive garbage and recyclables collector.

City council passed legislation tonight that allows the board to do so.

The city has five collectors now. Service Director Dan Livingston has said the city would like more-efficient and less-costly pickup service for its residents.

The lawmakers also allowed the board of control to execute a contract with C. Crump Inc. of Hubbard for a waterline replacement project on Cyrus Avenue.

Council also authorized the board to advertise for bids for this year’s street-resurfacing program.
