Fitch teacher suspended for alleged relationship with student

AUSTINTOWN — An Austintown school teacher is suspended for an alleged improper relationship with a female Fitch High School senior, according to 21 WFMJ-TV.

Superintendent Vince Colaluca confirmed to 21, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, that a teacher is suspended from his duties as school officials investigate the allegations.

Colaluca says police have been notified, but currently the investigation is being handled internally.

Having an inappropriate relationship with a student violates the Ohio Department of Education’s Code of Professional Conduct for teachers, and could lead to the revocation of a teaching license.
