Campbell police arrest 3 on drug-related charges

CAMPBELL

City police arrested three people on multiple drug-related charges after finding suspected heroin and marijuana on them during a traffic stop.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police stopped a car driven by 21-year-old Quanisha L. Sellers, of Jean Street in Campbell, for failing to stop at the intersection of Jackson Street and Wilson Avenue, almost causing an accident.

According to the police report, officers immediately noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the car, and a passenger — identified as 23-year-old Dwayne B. Sellers, of Trumbull Court in Youngstown — then told police he had both a marijuana roach and a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

Police also found 1.1 grams of suspected heroin in a sock of the other passenger — identified as 20-year-old Rodney Neil Brown, of Thalia Avenue in Youngstown — along with numerous baggies containing drug residue and another marijuana roach in the car.

Both Quanisha L. Sellers and Dwayne B. Sellers were charged with misdemeanor possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Quanisha L. Sellers was also cited for the traffic violation. Brown was charged with felony possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
