v Meet the Artist, Kim Novak, 1 to 3 p.m.: The former screen star will be at the reception for the opening of an exhibit featuring her portraits, interiors and landscapes, inspired by spirituality and nature, at the Butler Institute of American Art. The exhibit runs through June 29.

Rust Belt taps dark comedy

YOUNGSTOWN

The Rust Belt Theater Company will present “Can You Hear Me?,” a dark comedy, written and directed by Brian Lee, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and May 16-17 in the Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.

The play stars real-life husband and wife acting duo Craig and Liz Conrad.

The play centers on an unconventional love story that takes place between two people, in adjoining prison cells, who build a relationship without ever seeing each other.

There will be a complimentary reception after the opening-night performance.

‘Celebration Finale!’ set by orchestra

GREENVILLE, Pa.

Greenville Symphony Orchestra salutes some musical greats with “Celebration Finale!” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Passavant Center at Thiel College, 75 College Ave., as it concludes its 2013-14 concert season.

One of the orchestra’s own, Arthur Reichenfeld, will be noted for his more than 50 years as violinist on the stage with GSO.

The concert will also feature Dr. Arthur “Buddy” White Jr., professor of philosophy at Thiel College since 1975.

There is an admission fee.
